Trust carefully.
Look closer.
Spot the AI is a daily five-image game. Decide whether each image is a real photograph or generated by AI. Commit to your answer, then discover the documented origin.
What do we mean by “real”?
Camera-origin photographs, including disclosed conventional edits, historical prints, staged scenes, and photographic panoramas. “Real” does not mean unedited or an unstaged scene. Those distinctions are part of the reveal. AI means an image produced with a generative model.
Proof before publication.
We require a traceable source, usage rights, an origin record, and editorial review for every image. Camera photographs need historical or primary-source evidence; generated images need an actual generation receipt. Unknown origin stays unpublished. A model name is shown only when supplied by the generation tool.
Your first answer counts.
Everyone gets the same five images in a daily edition, increasing in editorial difficulty. Answers are checked on the server and your first choice is saved. Refresh or return later to continue. Finished editions cannot be replayed to improve your official score.
When does the day reset?
At midnight UTC, everywhere. The game shows that time in your local timezone. Finish all five rounds to extend your streak. A streak is consecutive completed editions, regardless of your score.
Images cannot prove their own origin.
Lighting, anatomy, texture, and composition can guide a guess, but visual clues are not proof. Generation improves, cameras can produce strange effects, and real scenes can be surprising. We teach context and provenance alongside observation.
What’s available today?
The application supports reviewed daily editions, anonymous saved answers, results, sharing, and statistics when its database and content library are connected. If an edition has not passed review, the game clearly says it is unavailable. Plus, payment processing, audio, and video are planned.
